I've purchased a couple of small travel sketchbooks for a trip I'm taking towards the end of June. One of the sketchbooks is standard sketching paper stock with pages that are 14cm wide and 21cm tall. The other is a watercolour field book with pages of sturdy watercolour paper that are 9cm x 14cm. Both books are hard cover with an elastic closure, and if I remember correctly, both came from Ecosystem.
On the subject of travel sketching, I tooled around on the web and found a very cool site where a variety of artists submit their latest Moleskine art.

I often give hand-made cards for special occasions. For a group birthday party this month I got all ambitious and decided that I'd try pop-up cards. This came after a pretty successful try at an origami flower for my mom for Mother's Day, and I was feeling confident. Two days later (!) I had a pop-up card for one sister, an origami pop-up card for another sister, and a slider card for my nephew.
I thought a blog might be an interesting idea - somewhere to post what I'm up to and what interests and inspires me, no matter how big or small. I hope to share part of the exciting, amazing, intriguing and sometimes frustrating journey that is my life as an artist.
