Today I drew a piece that was a sort of automatic drawing, meditative exercise. Lately, I've really enjoyed the very stark, graphic quality of white ink on black paper, as well as using geometric shapes and numbers with zentangle-like patterns.

More eye practice today, this time using ink, a much more challenging media!

I'm combining negative painting and ink for today's Inktober drawing:

For today's Inktober drawing, I designed this Celtic knot:

Earlier today I was playing with varieties of ink and musing on today's election:

I'm playing with a sepia ink pen and copic markers for today's Inktober piece. Here's my sketch of actor Ian McNeice:

When Jen and I were designing the levels of the action game we are working on, I was hesistant to add the floating platforms
which are a staple of side scrolling games. I wanted the game to have a realistic landscape and felt that while
a piece of floating landscape is not out of place in a fantasy world, it would not look real.
Jen created a concept for a floating platform and I was blown away. This earthy platform looks perfectly natural in our game
world, and it looks very realistic and plausible in this one!

This Inktober piece is a variation on the theme from my last blog post. I've used ink-soaked gauze to print over top a wash of intense colour:

I've been experimenting today, printing with ink washes and fabric:

For today's Inktober drawing, I used letters, numbers and geometric shapes to break up the space. (This may be one of the only times I'll allow for the asthetic value of numbers!)
