Although many Calgary residents were able to begin returning to their homes yesterday to assess the flood damage, today was the first real opportunity for volunteers to gather and start helping with the cleanup. These are just a few images from the news that help illustrate the beginning of the city's very long process of getting back to normal:

I spent yesterday worrying (like so many others) for all my friends and family in and around the city that were affected by the flood. Yesterday was surreal, and I'd love never to experience that again!
