A digital pastel painting today...

In this sketch I tried to work fast, roughing out shapes and suggesting highlights and shadows without overworking it – a fatal flaw of mine...

I tried to keep this sketch fast, focusing on prominent objects and colour:

We went to Bragg Creek to hike yesterday, and at the end of the day I did a quick sketch of the creek:
Sketchbook journal on Kraft paper:
I bought a sketchbook of Kraft paper yesterday and I've been having fun playing with it today!
A plein air sketch of a highrise apartment not far from where we live:
The VERY fast drawings I did of several boats docked at the reservoir yesterday. These boats were turning so fast in their moorings that capturing even one angle was a big challenge!
My hubs offered to go with me to the reservoir to sketch today, which he might have regretted afterwards! We were out for over an hour in the most violent wind I've ever sketched in – at times it was gusting up to 60km/h – making drawing and painting a challenge, to say the least! I was trying to lay down water, then pigment to achieve a relatively fluid wash of colour, and in the few seconds it took me to put paint on my water brush, the water had already completely dried on the paper! Filling my water brush from a small bottle of water blew the water right in my face, and I was constantly afraid of losing my brush or pen to the next gust of wind.
Nonetheless, it was a pretty fun sketch outing (at least I thought so!). Here's a quick painted sketch of some men out on the dock today:
