Today I had a chance to add colour to a quick sketch I did at Heritage Park on the weekend:

Midnapore Station. I thought I'd place a couple of simple figures in the scene, but in retrospect, they look like ghosts. Perhaps that's appropriate, since there are so many ghost stories associated with Heritage Park!

One of my favourite buildings at Heritage Park – the big red barn:

This was a pencil sketch that I started while sitting at the edge of Bragg Creek (and finished today). Perfect tranquility:

I spent a bit of time sketching this view from a quiet, shady porch – the perfect spot to draw:

I sketched this on our trip to Heritage Park. The pencil and line work was done on-site, and the colour added later from the reference photo I took at the time.

This weekend we went hiking in one of my favourite places – Bragg Creek. We started the afternoon with lunch at The Italian Farmhouse, and had pasta and prosecco – the perfect pre-hike lunch!
