What better way to wave farewell to May than to admire some of the month's most beautiful blossoms? I wish I could capture the scent of these gorgeous flowers to enjoy whenever I want!
Our Lady of Confidence in Cadillac, Saskatchewan:
My latest art journal page, rife with stamped images and just enough empty space to actually write something!
And here are the last three sketches. Note the gradual flattening of the landscape... Boy, was I happy to see that cow! And that stand of trees was such a delightful surprise! (Sorry for the sarcasm...)
Here are a couple of quick sketches I did on Monday's road trip in order to pass the time:
We took a very fast road trip from Calgary to Ponteix, Saskatchewan, leaving Monday afternoon and returning late last night. I took the opportunity to do some sketching and painting along the way. On the trip home from Ponteix was an old barn with so much character that I had to stop and take a picture to paint from later! This was the barn just after a torrential downpour when the clouds were clearing and the sun broke through.
Thanks to everyone in Ponteix for making us feel so welcome!
I've started another watercolour pour painting (just can't get enough!). Here is the sketch I've started with:
A quick sketch of a nanking cherry bush just starting to blossom:
This week's best sources of food happiness for me were zucchini pasta (shredded zucchini, homemade tomato sauce and asiago cheese) and a yummy Chianti from Sting and Trudie Styler's Tuscan villa's vineyards (say that three times fast!). Tasty!
This was a quick side project I did to add a little colour to my studio. The stained glass effect was created using a glass painting kit, and I painted right on the glass from a 5” x 5” photo frame with the backing taken out.
